Burden of Proof

NOTE: This story has a rating of PG-13! It has strong language throughout as well as references to things like woohoo and violence. By popular demand of my readers and fans, this story will be Kenzie's very first story with more adult content. No more Ms. Nice Girl! Fasten your seat belts! *evil laugh* Oh, and please don't read if you're easily offended by any of these things. *shifty eyes*

In the last story, Conflicting Interests, dramatic events cost Kenzie everything. But she knows she has to move forward with her life, so she's pursuing a new goal of becoming a private investigator. If she succeeds, she'll still be a detective, but she'll be her own boss. Nothing will have to go through someone higher up at the police station. She makes the rules.

But there's a catch - one doesn't just become a PI. That takes a special permit and special training, more than what Kenzie studied at Twinbrook University. So she's now back in school trying to get the proper credentials. Find out where her life is currently going in her latest story...

The Case:
A seemingly peaceful spring break turns into disaster for Kenzie Howell while she's in Starlight Shores. First, Jillian makes an unexpected announcement. Then, two subjects from Kenzie's past show up to further complicate things. And lastly, a famous magician's performance turns deadly when a corpse is found onstage. Accusing a celebrity is a risky feat if one doesn't have the proper evidence. And Kenzie doesn't have her detective title anymore either. Will she even be able to work the case, let alone prove any of her claims?
